2012 Honolulu Memorial Day

Badminton Tournament

May 25th to 27th, 2012

 

Calling all Badminton Enthusiasts!

Come join us for a fun filled tournament in beautiful Hawaii. We are the very first private badminton gym in Hawaii and located in the heart of Honolulu @ 1336 Dillingham Blvd, Honolulu HI 96817. Our facility features professional latex mats on all the courts. This is the very first tournament we are hosting in our gym and we welcome you to join us and HAVE FUN!

Tentative Schedule:

May 25, 2012: 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm - Check in & Registration, Warm Up

May 25, 2012: 6:00 pm starts Tournament Play

May 26, 2012: 9:00 am starts Tournament Play

May 27, 2012: 9:00 am starts Tournament Play


Depending on the no. of entries received and the players' physical capability, we might play till pass midnight if necessary to complete all the events.


Divisions:

MEN’S SINGLES & DOUBLES: Open, B, C, D/Novice, Seniors (45+), and Masters (55+)
WOMEN’S SINGLES & DOUBLES: Open, B, C, D/Novice, Seniors (45+), and Masters (55+)
MIXED DOUBLES: Open, B, C, D/Novice, Seniors (45+), and Masters (55+)

Travel Information:

Travel can be expensive during the Memorial Day weekend. Thus, our Club works with an agent from Sport Travel Hawaii, Linelle Hanawahine, to come up with good discounted rates for our players. Sport Travel Hawaii is a sport and beyond full service travel agency to manage your individual and group travel needs (minimum 10 pax to qualify for group rates).

 

Air Travel:

Interisland Air – starts from 169.00 per person; subject to availability

LAX to Honolulu – starts from 440.00 per person (this quote is based on 5/23-5/29; subject to availability)

Eligibility & Conditions:

  1. The tournament is open to all players.
  2. Please try to register to the division that best fits your badminton level.
  3. Leveling will be enforced by the Tournament Committee.
  4. Doubles teams in Seniors or Masters events may use their average age to qualify.  Minimum average age for Seniors event is 45 years old; for Masters event is 55 years old
  5. The tournament organizer reserves the right to combine, cancel, add or change divisions as necessary.
  6. Round robin format may be used when there are not enough entries.
  7. Consolation matches will be held for each event.
  8. Warm up is limited to 3 - 5 minutes.
  9. Each player is required to submit his/her individual entry form even for players in doubles event.
  10. Entry fees will not be refunded unless your event is cancelled by the tournament organizer.
  11. The tournament organizer reserves the right to move players according to their level and change any of the above conditions.
